José Ruiz, Licensed Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist
José Ruiz earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Massachusetts and graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture with a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM) in 2005. Jose specializes in fertility acupuncture and as a former fellow of the American Board or Oriental Reproductive Medicine he has extensive familiarity with Western medicine-based fertility procedures. He is a preferred provider with CCRM Boston Fertility clinic, and Lahey Clinic’s Spine Center.
After Graduating from the New England School of Acupuncture José’s unique opportunity to study herbal medicine with Dr. Tao Xie for over 4 years gave him invaluable insight into treating a variety of complex conditions. Through this course of study, he learned profound ways of utilizing herbs, which when coupled with acupuncture, yield excellent results for a number of conditions.**
Since opening his practice, José has treated thousands of infertility patients. Jose is very experienced and comfortable treating patients undergoing IUI and IVF procedures and believes that acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine can significantly increase the success rates of these procedures. *He also frequently treats couples seeking to conceive naturally.
With over 20 years experience Jose has done advanced studies in:
- Distal acupuncture with Dr. Tan, Susan Johnson, and Robert Doane- which he finds to be very effective in treating various pain and other health related conditions.
- He completed and passed the rigorous Certification in Chinese Medicine Dermatology under Mazin Al-Kafaji- which uses herbal medicine to treat a variety dermatological conditions.
- Recently he has undergone extensive study in electro acupuncture with the Electroacupuncture institute under Dr. Jeremy Steiner.
- When not treating patient’s Jose likes to spend his free time with his wife and 3 children, and when time allows he likes practicing traditional Shaolin Long Fist and White Crane Kung fu at WU AN Martial Arts
